Everyone seems to be doing one of these blasted meme things for every fandom under the sun. South Park memes. Heroes memes. To me a "meme" is just a "me! me!" thing. But since I was procastinating on coursework anyway I felt I might as well make one. It's just a bunch of questions and my own answers to the questions.
Let's start with something simple.
Who is your favourite Disney character? This seems like the easiest question of all but looking back over 80 years of Disney history then its pretty damn hard to say one character is better than any other. I'd have to say that my favourites however are Jack Sparrow (for obvious reasons, delicious live action) and Kronk from the Emperor's New Groove. He's so goddamn cheerful.
What Disney character are you most like? Dory. Dory the fish with a three second memory but more than enough enthusiasm. I'm clumsy and ridiculous and my singing annoys other people. I am most definitely a Dory
The Disney Character you actually hate? I cannot stand Peter Pan. I'm sorry but the whole way through that film I wanted to strangle him, sitting back laughing as the mermaids try to drown Wendy. Disney didn't make him that likeable.
What is your favourite Disney movie? Can I have a top five? Of course I can, I'm making the goddamn questions! But even choosing a top five is really difficult. Well the Lion King is in there but I think the Lion King would appear in most lists. It has Scar!
The Emperors New Groove because even though it wasn't as successful as the Disney films of the 90s I still thought it was really funny and original. Totally my sense of humour.
Everyone loves Aladdin, even if you don't like Robin Williams, Aladdin is still amazing both in its script, its characters and the visuals.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Perhaps one of the most perfect films of all time. I wonder if it would be possible to edit out Keira Knightly though because she just gets on my tits. I can't bring myself to care about her or her character and her chest is all padding and paint (mwuhahahaha)
Jungle Book. If you do not like the Jungle Book then you should just drop down and die. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
Best Disney song? Be Prepared of course. That song is a sheer wonder, and the visuals that go with it in the film are also brilliant even though Scar is so wonderfully camp through the whole thing. He plays with his mane, winks, shimmey's his shoulders and does a little tiptoe dance. I just wish they had added the sound of the hyena marching feet on the CD because it really adds to the beat. It's funny though how once you can hear the change in singer you can never unhear it. Jeremy Irons burnt out you see and Jim Cummings took over towards the end. Once its pointed out to you then you will always notice it, try as you might not to.
The Disney moment that shocked you Some people may say its the first Disney on screen death of Mufasa. Others might have been shocked by the mass slaughter of thousands of eggs and Nemo's mother at the beginning of Finding Nemo. To me though its the moment in the Incredibles when Mr Incredible starts strangling the white haired chick.
Mirage: There isn't much time.
[Mr. Incredible grabs her by the throat]
Mr. Incredible: No, there isn't.
[He stands up and holds her in the air]
Mr. Incredible: In fact, there's no time at all.
Mirage: [Choking] Please.
Mr. Incredible: Why are you here? How can you *possibly* bring me lower? What *more* can you take away from me?
I hadn't seen the film at the cinema and I saw this bit on a tv screen in a shop and I stood watching that part in shock. I then ran out to buy the DVD. You can see it here
[link] The Disney moment that had you in tears Ok I didn't start crying but the ending was so heartfelt and wonderful that I literally melted. The very last shot of Sulley at the end of Monsters Inc is so incredibly touching that if you're not moved then you really are a cynical old bastard. Disney have said that because the ending was so perfect then they don't plan on making a sequel to Monsters Inc whereas they'll make sequels to every other bloody movie.
If anyone likes this and wants to add any more questions that's cool. Now I need to get back to my coursework.
Oh. I dreamt I was executed by hanging last night. I seem to be dying an awful lot in my dreams. It's really getting me worried.
Devious Comments
You know, I noticed that about Peter Pan myself... he's kind of immature. I know that's part of his character, but still, it's a tad irritating. :[
I loved Aladdin because I think that was the *only* movie that could pull off a modernized character and still make it fit. Ever notice how a lot of Disney movies have that one character that acts like it's pulled out of the twenty-first century? The genie has to be the best fit for that, since he has the power to go to every place and any era.
I did not know that about Scar's singing voice! Then again, Jim Cummings has some tremendous talent as a voice actor. I have to re-watch that now!

Try to save them all, bleed no more

I enjoyed Oedipus Complex, I love hearing about your story every chance I can get. I cannot wait until the day you are a famous author, and you realize that your talents are appreciated. Just remember: that day will come.
